Bamidele Salam sponsors bills to formalise National volunteering, tackle sickle cell disease

The Lawmaker representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Bamidele Salam today presented three bills before the House of Representatives.


The bills include:


1. The National Volunteer services Agency Bill, 2020 (HB.700) which is expected to encourage volunteering and community service in the country. The bill seeks to establish a functional framework for volunteering in the country.


2. The National Agency for Sickle Cell Disease  and other Heritable Blood Disorder (Prevention  and Treatment) Bill, 2020 which is targeted at the establishment of an agency that will pay special attention to care for and management of Sickle Cell carriers in the country.


3. The National Directorate of Employment Act (Amendment) Bill, 2020 (HB. 709). This is a bill that seeks to make the National Directorate of Employment more functional and capable of creating jobs for the huge population of unemployed young people in the country.


The Bills are targeted at making life easy for Nigerians and facilitating the rapid development of the Nation’s human capacity.
